Synopsis: ASM is honoured to once again partner with the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) for the Professionalism Course. Similar to last year, this will be a very interactive session where case studies will be discussed in breakout rooms (small groups) and everyone gets an opportunity to share your thoughts and opinions. These case studies are structured to be realistic and practical, and is suitable for all actuaries, with a slight slant towards general/non-life insurance aspects.     Past President, Actuarial Society of Malaysia

    Gary is currently the Head of Conventional Business for AIA General in Malaysia. He has overall responsibilities for the strategy, management and governance of AIA Malaysia’s General Insurance business distributed via Agency, Partnership and Corporate Solutions channels, covering both intermediaries and customers.

    Before taking on this role, he was the Head of Operations and Product Management for the company and prior to that, as its Appointed Actuary. Before joining AIA, Gary spent a significant part of his career as a consultant in JPWALL Consulting Partners and NMG Consulting.

    With over 20 years of industry experience, he has been involved in all areas of general insurance actuarial work from pricing, capital, and valuation functions to other areas such as risk, reinsurance, and mergers and acquisitions.

    Gary graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and is an FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) as well as an FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries).
