Tan Suee Chieh
President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA)
Mr. Tan Suee Chieh is the first Asia-based President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
He was amongst the first cohort of Malaysians to achieve the Institute of Actuaries’ Fellowship qualification in 1984. Apart from a first-class honours in actuarial science from the London School of Economics (1981), he holds a Masters in Organisational Psychology (2002) from Columbia University.
Suee Chieh has held a variety of Chief Executive positions since 1994, namely at Prudential, SHL (a listed organisational psychological consulting firm), NTUC Income and NTUC Enterprise.
His honours include “Outstanding CEO of the Year 2012” from Singapore Business Awards, “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Institute of Advertising Singapore (2012), “Outstanding Young Malaysian of the Year” from the Jaycees and Business Times (1987), and “Leader of Tomorrow” award in Malaysia (1976).
