Join us in a special session with the President-Elect of the International Actuarial Association (IAA), Ms. Bozenna Hinton, during her visit to Malaysia. 

In this session, Bozenna will present an overview of the IAA’s mission and vision and highlight significant aspects of the IAA in education, insights into Actuarial Standards and Notes (ISAPs and IANs), as well as overview of various IAA forums and IAA Taskforces.

Bozenna Hinton

Bozenna is President-Elect of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). She is also a member of the IAA Executive, Nominations and Strategic Planning Committees. Since starting her involvement with the IAA, she has been Chair of the Education Committee (2016-2021), Vice Chair of the Resources and Environment Working Group (2013-2014) and served on numerous other entities notably the Professionalism, Nominations and the Strategic Planning Committees, as well as being Australia’s Council Delegate. 

Bozenna is based in Sydney, Australia and graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Economics.  She became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) in 1994.  While most of Bozenna’s career has been focused on Life insurance, she has also worked in general insurance, superannuation and in other areas such as advising electricity and gas retailers, generators and industry groups in Australia's deregulating energy market. 

Throughout her career Bozenna has been active with the Actuaries Institute Australia, including being elected President in 2010, with Vice President roles in 2008 and 2009. Other leadership roles in the Australian profession include Chair of the Board of Examiners (2005-2006), Chair of the Education Committee (2009), Chair of the Member Services and Educator Taskforce (2008), Chair of the Life Insurance Committee (2014-2016) and Chair of the International Committee (2018-2023).  In 2020 she received the Actuaries Institute Volunteer of the Year Distinguished Service Award.
